       Your concerns about H1N1

We know many parents are concerned about sending children into public settings with the flu virus so rampant. As an ACA accredited camp, we want you to know that Makemie Woods has always taken the necessary precautions to keep our campers as safe as we can. To be more specific:
  • We have always asked during the screening if anyone has been sick in the household during the two weeks previous to camp.
  • Any camper that has a fever of over 100 degrees is being sent home, and their living space disinfected.  We are asking these families to have their child tested for H1N1, and will notify families if we have had a camper that tests positive.
  • All campers are using hand sanitizer at every opportunity, in addition to hand washing.  We have hand sanitizer on their dining table, and they also use it before snack.  This has been our policy for some time.
  • The American Camp Association has published a video that addresses these concerns:  View the video

Our EcoEternity Forest is now open                EcoEternity Forest

RECYCLE YOUR ELECTRONICS with MW

Makemie Woods has partnered with EcoPhones to be good stewards of the environment.  We collect old cell phones, ink jet cartridges and other digital junk, and they recycle or rebuild it and preserve the environment.  And they pay us money for the Scholarship Fund!
