How you can contribute to the ministry at Makemie Woods through DONATIONS
We are especially grateful for the many financial contributions made to the camp every year, we quite literally could not operate without them. The Presbytery of Eastern Virginia which owns and operates Makemie Woods is a 501(c)3 organization, and donations are tax deductible. Here are some ways you can contribute: Makemie Woods Annual Fund Campaign Watch your mailbox for our new "Envirolope!" What's an envirolope? It is an environmentally friendly mailing envelope that saves energy by using less paper and generating less waste.
The Annual Fund
The Annual Fund helps ensure the Makemie Woods ministry continues into the future. Especially during these challenging economic times, the Annual Funds supports those essential expenditures that make the ministry possible, like insurance, utilities, annual permits and inspections, etc.

The Sustaining Fund
This fund makes possible capital improvements, the purchase of vehicles, and helps take care of emergency expenses not covered in the scope of the operating budget. In recent years, this fund has been used to install air conditioning in the Main Lodge, replace old furnaces with safer, energy efficient heating systems, purchase new playground equipment, and renovate the pool. Your gifts make it possible for us to do this important work while keeping our camper and guest fees affordable.
The Scholarship Fund
Every year we award full and partial scholarships to campers based on need--thanks to people like you we have NEVER turned away any child for financial reasons. Through this fund we make the Makemie Woods ministry available to children who otherwise might not ever have the opportunity to experience Jesus Christ in the Christian summer camp setting.
In 2010, over $23,000 in assistance was awarded to over 90 campers. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could support families in need at this level every year?
