You may notice that we say a lot, "Makemie Woods is accredited by the American Camp Association."  This is a big deal, because it means we prove your child's physical and emotional safety are our highest priority through a process of standards for staff screening, training and evaluation, an inspection of our site for everything from bed width and handrails to smoke alarms and fire extinguishers, and beyond.  We know this is important to parents, and it is important to us.  We hope you will take the time to read what is available here, and ask questions about anything you don't understand or want to learn more.

Many camps do not seek this accreditation, because there are significant costs involved as well as a great deal of time, attention to detail, and documentation.  We believe your child is a unique and precious gift, and your trust is incredibly valuable.  We will gladly do everything you can to provide your child the safest possible experience.
