Last resort:
If you have problems downloading an application, please

paper

About references: We require
three written references in addition to the interview before we can
offer
the position. You need to send the reference form to the three
people
you list on your application.
Print and send the reference form (Adobe
format) to your references ,or
Copy and paste this link: http://www.makwoods.org/pub/2010MWref.pdf
into an e-mail to
these persons.
Please tell them why you are applying, and what position you are
applying
for. If they do not have access to a fax machine, it is a
courtesy
to send a stamped envelope with the camp's address already on it.
One of the persons writing
a reference for you must be a pastor or other church professional
who knows you. If the person who is currently serving as pastor
of
your home church does not know you (this happens alot to college students) please ask a campus pastor or youth
minister who does to write this reference.
It is critical that
we have ACCURATE addresses and phone numbers for your references!
Step 4: The Interview
After
we have received all pieces of your application -- including references
-- we will contact you for an interview. We begin interviewing in
January and continue to hold interviews on a relatively monthly basis. If,
for some reason, you must make a decision regarding your summer plans
faster than our regular interview schedule allows, please let us know
and we will do our very best to accommodate your timeline.
Face-to-face interviews at the
camp are strongly preferred. However, we recognize that more and more
of our staff reside a significant distance from our property. In those
instances, phone interviews are completely acceptable.
Applicants should plan to be available for an interview by the personnel
committee on the date indicated either in person or by phone, and can expect to
be notified about a job within 1 week of the interview, assuming all references
were received by the interview date.
Here are a few questions that you will be
asked during your interview:
1. Who, besides Jesus, do you
want to be like or admire most?
2. Are there any dates between June
11 and August 9 that you will be unavailable to work?
3. Are you
afraid of needles?
4. Do you have a skill that you could teach to
kids, i.e. sign lagnuage, dance, knot tying, etc. in
a 1 hour time period?
We look forward to hearing from
you.
Please contact us if you have difficulty with this process.
May
God bless your decision to apply to work at Makemie Woods.
